Good, but annoying spinner every 3 seconds
This works well, and in general is a good program. However, apparently in the latest release, a very annoying change was made. Every few seconds, an attention-grabbing spinning progress indicator appears over the main window for no reason that’s useful to the user. All it does is grab your attention. It’s like a light that’s always blinking. I assume it’s a bug as I can’t imagine any developer doing this intentionally. I hope they fix this soon, as it’s a complete show stopper.
Responding to the developer. This spinning progress indicator happens every few seconds all day long. It doesn't even seem to need to have a browser window forward. This is just bad interface. If I’m not actively doing something in Cookie, why is it trying to grab my attention at all? We learned years ago to silence blinking cursor insertion points if not the foreground app. This isn’t very different. Just add a test to see if Cookie is the active app, and only show it then.
Used to be useful Cookie Monster
Update: stopped working. Only recognizes a 3 out of 100 cookies.
Seems to work very well for wiping out annoying cookies. I especially love the "clean every 10 minutes" option. However, it's a bit painful to manage favorite cookies. For example, you'd love to have a single click to include all "no-tracking please" cookies as favorites. No you have to go through manually every time. Also you'd love to have a way of selecting single cookies as favorites to keep. No you have to select the whole domain of cookies. So there's no way to say "keep this single cookie and discard all others". So you'll have to trust all of google analytic cookies just because you want to keep the login cookie around.
Biggest downside is that it's rather inflexible with managing which cookies to keep. But if all you want to do is clean cookies every 10 minutes, this is it.
Excellent Cookie Manager; Best I’ve ever tried !!!
The best I’ve tried so far. Much better than the others. Give you full control over which site can leave cookies on your machine. Very easy to see which sites are tracking your activity and allows you to keep those invasive flash cookies completely of your computers. You can which type cookies are the most odeous and which are actually useful to you and control them completely. Very well done software. A+++++++
